Surf
Hourtin Surf Club
At the Hourtin Surf club, you’ll be taught surfing and body-boarding with qualified instructors in a fully secured environment with the proper equipment.
You’ll get to know about the ocean step by step and you’ll be able to ride the waves.
This is an ideal natural spot to discover the basics of sliding sports.

Kitesurf

The Kite-surf club has got the French Federation Free Flight label.
The club facilities are located on the Hourtin Lake. All the necessary equipment to practice Kite-surfing is provided.
The club is run by two high-qualified instructors with the required degrees.
Nico : he’s crazy about sliding whether on water, ground, snow. He teaches kite-surfing, skiing, snowboarding and wakeboarding. He’ll teach you his passion and bits and tips to get more thrills.
Marco : He is a kite-surfing and sailing instructor, and a bit of a shaper too.
A kite-surfing adventurer, he’ll pass on you his knowledge and experience on various activities such as mountainboarding, buggy driving , twintyping , kiteboarding, racing, foiling…

Hiking :
The Hourtin forest :
The Hourtin forest surroundings are a perfect natural and genuine setting for hiking. Discover our exceptional site between the ocean, the lake and the forest in the dunes. Gracious sea pine-trees, green oaks with massive trunks, white or grey dunes modelled by the winds, purple patches of the sand plants : the forest displays a wide range of colours and shapes.
The trails are classified in three levels of growing difficulties, each signalled by one colour : green, blue and red.
In summer, wildlife guides welcome you, whether you’ve booked or not.

For 55 years, the The Hourtin-Medoc Sailing Club has been involved in the organization of the championships of dinghy sailing.
The Hourtin-Medoc Sailing Club team, with its
motivation, enthusiasm and know-how is fully dedicated to the nerdlingers who want to improve their technique or to those who are eager to discover this activity.

Bicycle rental with Hourtin Vélo.
Come and ride along the 120km of Hourtin cycle tracks so as to discover this part of the Medoc area and enjoy great outings. People are fond of those itineraries in the huge forests of pine trees which allow you to reach wild areas and desert beaches. There’s no better way to get a change of scene!
You can ride your bike to the beach, to the lake or just stroll around the harbour or the city-centre to buy fresh bread for instance. You can also walk along a health track or an orientation track.
